Foi inicialmente publicado por John Seller, a que se associaram, devido às suas dificuldades financeiras, William Fischer e John Thornton (1641-1708), em 1677. Com a dissolução da sociedade em 1679, Fisher e e Thornton ficaram com os direitos de publicação dos dois atlas mais importantes de Seller, "The English Pilot" e o "Atlas Maritimus, or The Sea-Atlas" e com muitas das chapas de impressão de Seller. O atlas foi depois publicado por Charles Price e pela firma Mount and Page | ||
